I esteem humanities and social sciences because these are important to understand the world. For example, in the philosophy in a simple system like ancient Greece, human essential problem is considered simply. So, it will enable us to understand man.
In statistics which is my major, it is desirable to understand not only mathematical element but also the nature of data when we apply to actual data. It is also important to see data qualitatively based on the angle of the civilization and the social science.
I would like to make sure that I develop visions of mathematical statistics and humanities and social sciences so that I get the perspective based on broad and deep insight.
